Thank you Dell for the buffet dinner

I am not a fan of Japanese cuisine, but luckily it also served some cakes and desserts, so I quite enjoyed it too. The buffet cost a whopping RM72 per head, more expensive than the famous Saisaki Japanese Buffet in KL. Must be due to its location in the hotel.. it served less choices too.
Anyway this is a really nice because I just joined Dell as vendor staff just for 4 days and I get invited for their company dinner. At first I decided not to go because I’d have trouble getting home(I car pool with my brother now) but luckily my colleague Yee Ting(also my sister’s friend) was willing to give me a ride home
Moreover she gave convinced me to for it as this is an excellent to know my colleagues better and the food will be the best among all Dell’s dinner.
The quarter end dinner was held in many different hotels, Yee Ting’s department was invited for a Chinese course dinner, in which roast suckling pig, seafood and “Buddha Jump Over Wall” were among the courses.. omg. Looking forward to more activities and glad to be part of it

Since coming back to Penang, I found it hard to fit into my current life. I used to wake up 30 minutes(8.30am) before working hour starts, and still manage to arrive in office in time. Going to my office used to take less than 10 minutes. Now I have to wake up 2 hours earlier(6am!!) than before and it’s really taxing, maybe because my body is not used to it. Spending 2 hours on travelling on the road everyday to work is not something pleasant. I feel like it’s very much a waste of time. The thought of moving into the island was playing in my head recently, but it’d not be feasible because of the extra expenses.
Each day I am left with only at most 4 hours of personal time, a significant contrast to 6 hours I had before
Thinking that I have to go through this for at least 1 year is quite sad at times.. I often find myself idling in the office, missing the life I had previously in Selangor.. it was not entirely perfect and nice but memorable.. the most beautiful thing happened in that period.
Feeling really sleepy and tired typing this entry at 10.30pm.. bed time is near.. sigh. If only I had a time machine or the ability to turn back time, I will choose to return to the day 9 months ago from now, and experience it all over again, as a better person who will treasure it more. As the saying goes, you don’t know what you got until it’s gone.. very true indeed. If you are enjoying your life currently and expecting a change in the near future, enjoy it thoroughly while you still have the chance
Good night zZzzZ

“Crap Cleaner” is a very nifty tool to have in ensuring your computer is err.. crap free. I am sure everyone of us have a copy of Ad-aware/Spybot installed in our PC. This is where CC Cleaner comes in as a compliment. It acts as a system optimization tool and privacy tool.
By using CC Cleaner you will be able to remove those stubborn Temporary Internet Files / Cookies that reside in your harddrive in a few seconds. Besides that, it is also capable of fixing issues that your PC may have. It removes unused extensions, installers, resolves missing shared dlls and does many other tasks.
Best of all it is a freeware and contains no spyware! Try it, I am sure you will like it
Satisfaction guaranteed

After a quite disappointing first day at work I am quite happy to say that things are looking up, thankfully. I find my team members really good people, friendly and very helpful. Another good thing is that most of them have been working in NCS for more than a year, other than us who just joined. This is a very big contrast to 3ntity(my ex-company) where most the staff will not last more than 4 months(5 people including me have left the company in my 5 months working duration) I still remember the first day I worked in 3ntity, all I heard was complaints towards the stingy boss, and how much they wish to resign in order to find another better job.
A very surprising thing happened today, I met my sister’s friend, who is also my friend’s sister lol, in Dell. Apparently she is a NCS staff too. Actually yesterday I already suspected she is working here too because I saw her name on my table. She was transferred to another department, COC if not mistaken.. not sure what does that stand for lol, so I am taking over her seat
During our first team meeting today I had another pleasant surprise, we are eligible to claim for OT!! Wheeeeee! And we are also planning a team building event, using the team fund sponsored by NCS.. it’s going to be a steamboat if all things go well
Next week we may be going on a trip to Bukit Hijau too
Anyway this is a picture of the yellow sticker thing I mentioned yesterday.. Tomorrow I will be registering for my own badge
Then I can move to anywhere I want haha.

Wanna get rid of this ASAP..
On a side note, my project leader, Guan Peng(a really nice helpful guy) has resigned
What a pity.. I thought I can learn much from him. Dell has also included meebo.com and other web messenger web sites in their filter list -.-” So efficient eh, I browse yesterday then this morning they blocked it liao.
Btw, the Char Koay Teow stall beside the Snake Temple.. sucks.. Dunno why my colleague said it was nice -.-” So don’t bother ordering if you happen to be there haha. I had that for lunch today, pretty much regretted it, should’ve ordered fried rice/nasi kandar instead.

Today’s my first day at work in Dell Penang as NCS staff. Have to wake up 6am everyday to car pool with my brother already T_T Good thing is I get to save on petrol and toll, and the best thing is I don’t have to drive! Get to enjoy the beautiful Penang bridge view too.. at least until I am sick of it lol.
Arrived in the office so damn early, 7.20am. For vendor staff in Dell we need to register ourselves twice, once in the guard post, another time before we enter the building. After registering in the guard post we will be given a round yellow sticker that states the date and the person in charge of you.
The Dell office in Penang is only for support / management / development and sales purposes. The support team here currently provide support not only to the US, but also Asia Pacific region. I of course was assigned to the development team, which consisted of around 10 members from NCS. The people are quite friendly, most of them ignored me though lol. The building is quite huge, but tiny if compared to Intel. I also noticed that most of them are casually dressed. Felt really weird being the only one dressed in formal on the entire floor..
I was brought to tour the building a bit by one of my colleagues and that was when I saw 2 big coffee vending machines! I was really thrilled to think that my “drug” is freely available! As soon as we finished the tour, I went upstairs wanting to grab a cup. To my disappointment, they are not free
Each hot drink(milo, nescafe, tea) costs at least 50cents while the cold ones 60cents. Sien. And to think that my brother’s company: Altera provides free flow of Milo, Nescafe, Green Tea and even CAPPUCINO!! That sucks :/
Another thing that disappointed me was the Internet connection. Dell employees may access the WWW but not their external mail boxes eg: YahooMail, Hotmail, Gmail etc. Due to the implementation of a proxy server, we can’t even sign on to our online messengers. You can however, sign on to MSN but you will be only able to chat with those people in the building. This means, you are like completely isolated from the world outside the building :/ Forget Yahoo Web Messenger, that won’t work either. Lucky me I remembered meebo.com
I was assigned to hard code some data from the backend side, to observe the change in the approval levels in the sales system. Really sien stuff I tell you. I went for fishing twice at 10am and 3pm respectively. For the most of the time I was there idle.. thinking of KL + someone and how bad I want to be back there
If not for the high cost of living.. sigh..

Went to this movie in Midvalley last week. Before that I did a search for its review in
RottenTomatoes.
The reviews weren’t too good, it only managed to score 49%.. Anyway I was not bothered and was very convinced with the movie’s trailer.
The movie revolves around a family in which the parents are celebrating a silver anniversary of some sort.. 25 years and still married. So this father decided to take the family for a trip to California(not pretty sure) through the dessert… driving.
On the way there, they ran into a trap laid by a group of mutants(caused by atomic experiments by government) and were stranded in the middle of the dessert.
Story cut short(to avoid spoilers) : father kidnapped, family members killed one by one(and have their intestines eaten, gross) Son-in-law became hero and saved the day with the help of a baseball bat and his dog, Beast.
This movie is really gory and I am surprised that it could be shown in Malaysia despite the strict cencorship. I found some scenes to be very disturbing especially what happened to the family’s daughters.. Be warned and you can forget about bringing pop corn along LOL, you won’t have the appetite for it
3.5/5 from me, it delivered what a horror movie should. Disturbing, gory and leaves you with a feeling of uneasiness.

Hello my beloved hometown, that’s of course Bukit Mertajam
It must’ve missed me too for being away so long(8 months) lol.
“Lau Yu” coffee shop is one of the oldest coffee shops in BM(15-20 years wor, old kua?) “Lau Yu”, which means “Old Friends” if translated into Chinese, originally has 2 other branches. The one I frequent most is located in Taman Mutiara, along Jalan Padang Lalang.

This baby only cost RM2.30.. what a steal

Very special Wantan Mee, taste it to feel it
In my opinion it has the 2nd best Char Koay Teow stall in the whole BM, no kidding. Other hawker stalls worth trying are Wantan Mee, Chicken Rice, Claypot Chicken Rice, Nasi Lemak and Tomyam Mee. The noodle stall that opens only in the morning outside is a big hit with students(Jit Sin High School is nearby) and working people and I notice the gold necklace the tauke is wearing is getting thicker and thicker
This is the coffee shop I grew up with, along with many other BM people

“Kee Tak Zek” @ KTZ restaurant, pronounced as “Kei Tuck Sek” in cantonese – means “Remember To Eat” is a chain of restaurants that reside in KL area. They are famous for their variety of “Thong Shui”/desserts and Dim Sum. I’ve visited 3 different KTZ outlets in Kepong, SS2 and Jalan Imbi.

This is taken at KTZ SS2

A cam-shot of the desserts being offered.
Their Peanut Butter Thong Shui has been praised by many who tried it. The list includes.. Shang Jun and Siang Leng lol, so blame them if it’s not nice

Peanut Butter… oooo
I wanted to try something special so I ordered their Sesame Thong Yun. It was nice stuff, very recommended let me warn you first, they cost RM1 per biji. 0_0
Lastly we ordered the “Bake Crab”, which is some Siu Mai stuffed in a poor crab shell
A bit pricey for the proportion, not worth ordering again. Anyway it looks nice.

I was brought to this mamak-like restaurant by Ji Xian about a year ago and it left me with very deep impression. It served many different roti canais I haven’t heard before that time, “Roti Beckham”, “Roti Ayam”, “Roti Hawaii” etc.. Basically the rotis are all stuffed with different fillings, and topped with really generous amount of mayonaise.

“Roti Hawaii”.. really huge
The mayo guilt..

“Roti Scramble” – lots of egg and mayo inside out
Their drinks are quite special too, contained in a peanut butter like glass bottle. Remember those bottles that we normally use to keep finghting fishes when we were small? Almost the same. The blended fruit juices are worth a try if you haven’t, with laicis and nata de coco inside.

Ice Blended Fruit Juice(Mango)
This place is always packed, hailed by many as one of the favorite hangout place in KL(others being Ming Tien/Asia Cafe) It is so crowded that 3 neighboring shops were also used to accomodate the customers. Also famous are their nasi lemak, claypot “lau shu fen” and western food.

Full house on a Friday night
If you happen to be around SS2, this is definitely a place you must visit. It’s located just behind the KFC. You cannot miss it.
